ACCOMMODATION

We would appreciate your cabin being left in a clean and tidy condition. It is equipped with cooking facilities and it is your responsibility to wash all dishes and cooking equipment prior to departure. Your rubbish is also to be put out in the large bin outside your cabin.

If you require housekeepers to clean your dishes this is available at an extra cleaning charge ($30). If the dishes are left dirty on your departure we will presume you are requesting this service and charge accordingly.

All our cabins are fully self-contained which means we don’t service your cabin daily. For stays longer than a week we will organise for a change of linen midway through your stay. If you require fresh linen please see reception, extra linen charges may apply.

Your cabin is supplied with milk, tea, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, and biscuits to get you started with your stay. Your bathroom has also been stocked with complementary Soap, Shampoo and Conditioner.

 

AIR-CONDITIONING

All cabins are air-conditioned with either box or split systems that allows for individual remote control. The remote control is located on the wall adjacent to the doorway or on the bench with the compendium.

Please turn off your air conditioner when you go out.

 

BBQ AREA

All park guests are welcome to use the BBQs. Please consider others and clean after use. Cleaning utensils are provided.

 

CAR PARKING

Each cabin has sufficient parking for a vehicle and small trailer.

 

CHECK OUT

Checkout time is strictly 10am. If you wish to stay longer, please check with reception as we may be able to offer a late check out for a fee of $20.

We carry a limited number of grocery items in Reception.

WOOLWORTHS – Town Plaza Shopping Centre – 41 Gill Street, Charters Towers

 

INSECTS

Insects are part of the Tropical North and therefore we advise you to keep all screens closed and avoid leaving any food on the benches.

Small sugar ants are common in the tropics and can be especially prevalent just before heavy rain is expected. Assist us in controlling ants by ensuring that kitchen benches are free of uncovered food and ensure all food containers are well sealed. If you find ants in your cabin please advise Reception.

 

KEYS

Most cabins require the key tags to be placed in the key receptor located either next to the door or above the bench. These tags activate power to air conditioners, ceiling fans and TVs.

 

KEY RETURN

Please return your key to reception on departure. If the reception isn’t open, please leave your key in the post box outside reception.

 

LAUNDRY

We have two laundry facilities. The closest one to the cabins is in the main amenities block. Washing machines and dryers take 4 x $1 coins. Clotheslines are next to the laundry. Bags of washing powder and pegs can be purchased from reception.

An iron and ironing board are located in your wardrobe.

 

MAINTENANCE

Occasionally, things will break or need repair. Should anything in your room or in the grounds require attention, please notify reception and we will endeavour to fix it as soon as possible. For non-urgent repairs please complete the Mr Fixit sheet located in the front of this compendium.

 

NON SMOKING

The Aussie Outback Oasis has a NON SMOKING policy for all cabins. Smoking is permitted on your verandah with the door closed. Please use ashtray provided.

If the smell of cigarettes permeated your room, you may be charged $400 to launder all soft furnishings.

Smoking is not permitted in any of the common areas of the park. Please consider other guests when smoking.

 

PETS

If you are travelling with a pet, you must let us know on arrival and we will provide you with our pet rules – if you have not already done this, please see Reception.

Pets must have their own bedding and are not allowed on beds or sofas. If there is excessive pet hair on the furniture you may be charged an additional cleaning fee of $100.

We do not have an off-leash area so pets must be on a lead at all times within the park.

 

POOL

Pool hours are 7am to 8pm.

Children must be supervised at all times in the pool.

Climbing on the rocks and waterfall is not permitted.

Glass containers of any kind are not permitted in the pool area.

Pets are not permitted in the pool area.

Pool towels are available from reception upon request.

A guest bathroom is located in the pool area, with an outdoor shower for a quick rinse off.

 

QUIET TIME

Quiet Time is 10pm and all visitors must have vacated the park by 9:30pm. Please consider other guests.

 

RECEPTION

Our Reception office is open between 9am and 6pm each day, 9am to 5pm on Sundays. For cabin related emergencies outside these hours please call 0411 937 844.

 

RUBBISH

There is a large rubbish bin outside your cabin. Please place your rubbish in this bin. An industrial bin is located near the large shed below reception if you have additional rubbish.

 

TELEVISION

Some cabins require the key tag to be placed in its receptor to allow the TV to work. Please do not adjust any of the preset settings of your television. If you experience any problems with your television please contact Reception.

Some televisions are Smart TVs and allow streaming.

There are a number of different types of TV in our cabins, but most remotes use either the: TV/DTV button (pressing and then pressing the button again will swap between digital and analogue) or the SOURCE button (pressing the source button will usually bring up a menu list of options). This will allow you to switch between analogue, digital and streaming.

 

TOURIST INFORMATION

A wide range of tourist information and brochures are available from the local attractions display located in reception.

The Tourist Information Centre located on Mosman St has a wealth of information about the town and its attractions.

 

VISITORS

We love to show off our park so if you are expecting any visitors please ensure they park their vehicle in the marked parking bays next to the pool. Visitors must comply with all park rules and you are responsible for the behaviour of your guests. Visitors must depart the park by 10pm.

 

WASHING OF VEHICLES

Due to current water restrictions and the transference of weed and seed, washing of vehicles in not permitted in the park under any circumstances. The Charters Towers Car Wash is located at 268 Gill Street.
